FREIGHT

An old freight depot on East 9th Street turned event hall, with a public calendar of trivia, paint-and-sip nights and Boxcar Bar evenings, room for 220, and 13 cabins on the property.

FREIGHT is an indoor, heated gathering hall in Leadville’s old freight depot at 320 East 9th Street. It hosts weddings, concerts, dances, storytelling, meetings and private parties, holds up to 220 people, and runs a full bar under its own liquor license; it has no in-house caterer. Its 13 cabins, hotel-style rooms with kitchenettes, are on the property, and its footer also gives an address for the Slumberyard at FREIGHT, 321 East 11th Street. Its FAQ says the hall is ADA accessible but the historic floors are uneven, that its peak season is May through December, and that it is open year-round.

The public calendar on its home page on 10 October 2026 listed the Boxcar Bar open 5–9 pm on October 11, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 29, 30 and 31 and November 1, a paint-and-sip night on October 11 and trivia on October 16, and it was taking vendor applications for its annual Motherlode Holiday Market. There are no regular opening hours; check the calendar for the night you want.

Address, phone and the event dates were read on FREIGHT’s home page, capacity and house rules on its FAQ page, on 10 October 2026; the dated October and November 2026 calendar is the evidence it is operating, and Lake County’s tourism calendar lists the same trivia and paint-and-sip nights.
